Glad Aesthetics Center offers excessive sweating surgery in Palm Bay, Florida.
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a very treatable disease that involves the overactivity of sweat glands under the arms, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet. An estimated 2.8% of Americans have hyperhidrosis. Around 8,400,000 Americans suffer from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis as it is known medically.
The causes for hyperhydrosis is the overactivity of glands caused by the spasticity of the surrounding muscles and tendon sheaths. Botox allows for the relaxation of these muscles which helps stop, eliminate, and limiting the sweat gland activity. Most insurance companies will now cover this form of therapy if hyperhidrosis interferes with your life. Botox-Therapeutic (not Botox-Cosmetic) must be used for all insurance reimbursements.
If you do not have insurance coverage then the prerequisite of (2) types of alternative types of treatments does not apply. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is relatively painless, results occur within 5-10 days and will last up to (12) months after treatment.
The reason for this longer duration for the Botox is that it is administered in larger doses as well as where the Botox is administered. In the axillae (underarm) area the medicine is introduced in small muscle and tendon sheaths. Because these muscles are not used as common as muscles within the face the duration or benefits for the Botox treatment is extended for up to (12) months. Other areas such as the soles of the feet and in the palms of the hands require even greater dosages of Botox and the duration is less.
